Lucy life while writing Stolen
Lucy Christopher was born in Wales, but grow up in Australia. Lucy lived in Melbourne from the age of nine until she got her undergraduate degree at Melbourne University. Lucy did not go directly into being a writer she first tried to be a coffee maker, an actress, a nature guide, and a waitress ("Lucy Christopher Scholastic"). Lucy later moved back to the United Kingdom and attended Bath Spa University and got her Creative Writing MA degree. Lucy then took up a part-time job lecturer at Bath Spa University. During this time she wrote Stolen as part of her Ph.D. In between writing and lecturing a Bath Spa University Lucy also rode a horseback, daydreamed, emailed friends from all over the place, and help with a kids wildlife group at Newport Wetlands. ("Lucy Christopher Scholastic")
Lucy/Gemma Comparison
I believe that Lucy is most like Gemma because the story was set in the Australian desert. Although at first, Gemma didn't like the desert she later came to love the desert and everything it has to offer. Just like Gemma Lucy loves the desert, in the article ("Interview with Lucy Christopher") she says that she loves the Australian desert and she has visited it many times and has gone on camelback rides into the desert("Interview with Lucy Christopher"). Another reason Lucy is really like Gemma is that, both of them like the outdoors. At first, Gemma just hates it out in the desert and just wants to go home. Later after her abductor, Tyler shows her a few things about nature (Photo Taken From Twitter)
she finally changes her mind and starts to see the desert as something else than just a hot, sandy, dry place. Lucy loves the nature and for example is when Lucy had free time you could either find her out riding her horse or helping out with a wetland wildlife group. ("Lucy Christopher Scholastic")
